Nacon and Cyanide Studio have released a demo for Styx: Blades of Greed on Steam ahead of its February release. Players can now experience the first hour of the game before its launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 19th.
The demo is time-limited and will eventually be removed, but players who try it out on PC and purchase the game on that platform will be able to carry over their save data to the full game.
Starting from the beginning of the game, the demo follows Styx as he infiltrates a golem and takes on his first mission to steal a zeppelin from the Inquisition and break through their blockade of The Wall.
This sneak peek offers a glimpse of what the full game entails, with Styx exploring three open environments, acquiring new abilities like a grappling hook and glider, utilizing Quartz powers for mind control and time shifting, and navigating a story that intertwines humans, Orcs, and Elves in devious ways.
Having previewed Styx: Blades of Greed at Gamescom, I had the opportunity to play this opening section of the game. Reflecting on the experience, I mentioned, “It’s truly exciting to see Styx: Blades of Greed reintroducing the charismatic goblin assassin to a new audience. The series has always had a unique charm, and with each installment, Cyanide pushes the boundaries to create a captivating stealth experience. While Styx may not revolutionize the genre, it certainly delivers plenty of enjoyment, and I eagerly anticipate its release later this year.”
