Tesla has announced the expansion of its robotaxi service to Dallas and Houston, as shared in a recent social media post. The post simply states, "Robotaxi is now rolling out in Dallas & Houston 🤠," accompanied by a 14-second video showcasing Tesla vehicles operating without human monitors or drivers in the front seat. With this expansion, Tesla now offers robotaxi service in three cities within Texas, following its launch in Austin last year and the introduction of rides without safety drivers in January 2026. According to a February filing, Tesla reported that its Austin robotaxis have been involved in 14 crashes since their launch. Additionally, Tesla provides a more restricted ride service with human drivers in the San Francisco Bay Area. While Tesla may not have deployed many vehicles in the new markets yet, data from the Robotaxi Tracker website only shows a single vehicle in each city (compared to the 46 active vehicles in Austin).
