Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Game Studio have unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Echoes of Aincrad, showcasing the combat system of their upcoming action RPG set in the Sword Art Online universe. Here are some key details highlighted in the trailer: Players will engage in real-time combat with progressive growth as they navigate the perilous floors of the floating castle of Aincrad. With each level gained, players will earn growth points to enhance their attributes in traditional RPG fashion, such as stamina, strength, dexterity, and more, tailored to their preferred playstyle. In addition to a diverse array of Special Skills, players can equip various armor pieces and weapons. Strengthening their armor at the smithy will be crucial for overcoming tougher foes. In Echoes of Aincrad, success hinges not only on equipment upgrades but also on mastering combat mechanics alongside a partner who fights by the player's side, responding to commands. Combat revolves around the Switch system, enabling players to seamlessly switch roles and execute chained attacks by alternating between partner actions and player attacks. Each partner possesses a unique Special Skill, prompting strategic decisions and precise execution. Echoes of Aincrad is currently in development for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, with a worldwide release scheduled for July 9th/10th, based on local time zones.
