Shapez 2 leaves the factory floor today as it launches into 1.0

Shapez 2 Leaves Early Access with 1.0 Release

I have always found joy in observing shapes, as I believe many of us do. Shapes are the fundamental elements of life, often presented to us as children to help us understand the world around us. Games like Shapez 2 embody this concept, allowing players to create intricate factories that produce endless shapes by combining different shapes together. After nearly two years in early access, Shapez 2 has officially launched its 1.0 version today.

Shapez 2, a factory-building game that focuses solely on the act of building factories, eliminates the need to worry about resources or costs. Players can continuously build and automate their factories until they can sit back and enjoy the shapes being produced without any concerns. In an early access review, Ollie praised Shapez 2, stating that it has become a vital addition to the genre alongside games like Factorio, Satisfactory, and Dyson Sphere Program.

The 1.0 release of Shapez 2 introduces a new mode called Manufacture Mode, addressing player feedback about the lack of variety in factory designs as the game progresses. In this mode, players focus on rebuilding their Vortex Platform by trading shapes with Trade Stations and constructing large-scale, permanent factories. Additionally, the update includes achievements, modding support, visual enhancements, tweaks to Classic Mode, a new tutorial, and more. For a full list of changes, players can refer to the Steam blog post.

If Shapez 2 piques your interest, you can now purchase the game on Steam and delve into the world of shape-based factory building.
