macOS 27: What’s new for iPhone Mirroring
The most significant improvement for iPhone Mirroring in macOS 27 is the ability to resize the iPhone Mirroring window.
You can now adjust the size of the iPhone Mirroring window with any iOS 27-compatible apps, starting with Apple’s native iPhone apps. This feature is expected to expand as developers release iOS 27 updates later this year.
Previously, iPhone Mirroring on macOS only had three preset sizes: smaller, actual size, and larger. The updates in macOS 27 and iOS 27 hint at Apple’s preparation for the foldable iPhone Ultra set to launch later this year.
Additional updates for iPhone Mirroring in macOS 27 and iOS 27 include:
- Control Center access
- DRM video support
Control Center access was not available in previous versions of iPhone Mirroring. In macOS 27, you can access it using the CMD+4 keyboard shortcut or the “View” menu in your Mac’s menu bar.
With DRM video support, you can now watch protected videos using iPhone Mirroring on your Mac, a significant improvement from previous versions where DRM-protected videos would display a black screen.
macOS 27 also introduces a new app icon for iPhone Mirroring, aligning with the design changes for other stock Apple apps.
