For All Mankind Season 5 Release and Liminal Film Details

The fifth season of Apple TV’s hit show For All Mankind premieres today. New episodes will be released every Friday until the end of May. Additionally, Apple Original Films has announced a new sci-fi thriller.

For All Mankind Season Five

The fifth season starts with a time jump of nine years since the “Goldilocks” asteroid heist, now set in the 2010s. Happy Valley has become a thriving colony with thousands of inhabitants, but tension rises as Earth governments seek more control over the Mars base. A startling discovery ignites a debate on maintaining law and order on the red planet.

The series explores an alternate timeline where the Soviets reached the moon before the United States. The show has progressed from its 1960s setting, evoking personal memories of the Apollo 11 mission. Joel Kinnaman returns as astronaut Ed Baldwin, alongside other familiar characters like Margo, Miles, and Ed’s daughter Kelly.

Season five is the second-to-last season of the series, with the final season already in production. A spin-off, Star City, focusing on the Soviet side of the space race, is set to premiere on May 29, 2026.

Apple TV Announces New Sci-Fi Thriller

Apple Original Films revealed a new science-fiction thriller titled Liminal, starring Vanessa Kirby and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Directed by Louis Leterrier, the film is based on the award-winning graphic novel Telepaths by J. Michael Straczynski, Steve Epting, and Brian Reber.

The story follows an electromagnetic event that awakens telepathic abilities in a portion of the global population. Boston police, now telepathic, face off against a wrongly convicted prisoner who becomes a leader of telepaths seeking freedom from persecution. Trust between these two protagonists may determine the world’s future.

J. Michael Straczynski, known for Babylon 5 and Sense8, penned the graphic novel and serves as a writer for the film. Apple has not disclosed casting details or a release date for Liminal.
