Bigscreen Reveals New Halo Strap Design for ‘Beyond 2’ PC VR Headset, Shipping Starts in June

Bigscreen has unveiled a significant redesign of the Bigscreen Beyond 2’s highly anticipated Halo Headstrap Mount, with plans to start shipping in June.

After a long wait, Bigscreen has finally showcased the Halo Mount for Beyond 2 and 2e, the lightweight PC VR headset that was released in March 2025.

The new Halo Mount design boasts a clip-on mechanism that eliminates the need for adhesives, as well as compatibility with third-party accessories through an M3 brass-threaded screw hole for modifications.

Improvements also include an enhanced flip-up mechanism, additional USB extension for improved cable management, and easier vertical adjustment for optimal forehead positioning.

According to Bigscreen, the Halo Mount went through a year of prototype iterations before the first production versions were built last year. Initial units, known as “DVTs,” were sent to customers for testing and feedback, leading to further improvements.

In December, the decision was made to delay mass production of the Halo Mount due to negative tester feedback, prompting a redesign process. Now, Bigscreen aims to release a limited first batch in June, followed by a larger run of 10,000 units in July. Pre-orders are currently available for $180/€169.

Bigscreen states that fulfilling all Halo Mount pre-orders may take a few months, with expectations to catch up by the end of summer and maintain sufficient inventory for prompt shipping thereafter.

Notably, Bigscreen’s Halo Mount is compatible with all Beyond straps, including the Soft Strap, optional Audio Strap, and third-party modded straps like Apple Vision Pro’s Knit Band.

It is also compatible with all facial interfaces offered by Bigscreen, including the Custom-Fit Cushion and Universal-Fit Cushion, or can be used without a cushion for wider peripheral vision.

In addition to the Halo Mount update, Bigscreen reports that orders for Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e are shipping within 1–3 business days, with some Universal-Fit configurations even shipping the same day, thanks to production and logistics enhancements.

However, due to disruptions in the supply chain related to conflicts in the Middle East and increased air freight costs, temporary shortages of Crystal Clear Beyond 2e and Universal-Fit Cushions have caused delays of 2–4 weeks in shipping times. Bigscreen assures that these issues are being addressed and normal shipping speeds are expected to resume by late April.
