Several Best Buy affiliates have recently received an email from the company indicating that pre-orders for GTA 6 will be available very soon, possibly within a matter of days. This leak seems legitimate as the sources have no known connection apart from being affiliated with Best Buy.
As per the notification they received, GTA 6 pre-orders are scheduled to commence on May 18th, with the pre-order affiliate campaign running until May 21st. It is somewhat curious why GTA 6 would require affiliates to promote the game, considering it is anticipated to be one of the best-selling games of this year and beyond.
Possibly, a new trailer will be unveiled on May 18th to initiate the pre-orders.
The most recent official announcement regarding the game was made in November 2025 when Rockstar revealed that Grand Theft Auto 6 was being delayed once again, with the new release date set for November 19th, 2026.
“We apologize for extending the wait, but these additional months will allow us to deliver the game with the level of quality that you expect and deserve,” the studio stated.
“We appreciate your patience and support. While the delay is unfortunate, we are thrilled for players to explore the expansive world of Leonida and revisit modern-day Vice City.”
Prior to this delay, GTA 6 was initially slated for launch on May 26th, 2026. Despite this being the first concrete launch date provided by Take Two and Rockstar, it followed nearly a year of assurances from Take Two executives that the game would indeed be released in 2025.
