Apple has rolled out the latest iOS 26.5 update, bringing significant enhancements to your iPhone. Along with a vibrant new wallpaper option, this software update offers much more for users to explore.

Key Features of iOS 26.5

According to Apple, iOS 26.5 introduces end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging (beta) in Messages, a downloadable Pride Luminance wallpaper, and various enhancements, bug fixes, and security updates for your iPhone.

The update focuses on three main changes for iPhone users:

  • End-to-end encrypted RCS messaging (beta) in Messages, gradually rolling out with supported carriers.
  • Pride Luminance wallpaper with dynamic color refraction available for download.
  • Suggested Places in Maps providing recommendations based on nearby trends and recent searches.

iOS 26.5 also introduces a new 12-month commitment with monthly payment options for App Store subscriptions. Additionally, Apple Maps will display ads in search results for users in the United States and Canada later this summer.

Other notable updates include changes to Apple’s Reminders app, automatic Bluetooth pairing for Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad accessories, and more enhancements in specific regions like the EU and Brazil.

Looking ahead, Apple will unveil iOS 27 at WWDC 2026 on June 8, with the first developer beta expected to release the same day.
