‘Apple Frames’ shortcut gets massive overhaul, new CLI for the Terminal

Federico Viticci at MacStories has released a significant update to his Apple Frames shortcut, which now frames screenshots with official Apple product bezels.

Described as a “complete rethinking” of the shortcut, Apple Frames 4 is faster, supports all the latest Apple devices, and offers more personalization options.

The update has reduced the shortcut from over 800 steps to around 300, making it faster and more reliable. It now adapts to the various Apple screen sizes and display resolutions.

One of the new features in Apple Frames 4 is support for frame colors. Users can now choose from all the colored bezels officially offered by Apple, allowing for more customization.

Additionally, the shortcut now supports device variants, proportional scaling, and merging screenshots from different Apple devices while maintaining their physical proportions.

In addition to the Apple Frames update, Federico has also created a command-line interface (CLI) for framing screenshots directly in Terminal on Mac.

The Apple Frames 4 shortcut and CLI are available for download on the MacStories website, offering a valuable tool for developers and marketers.
