Anduril Shows a Glimpse of EagleEye’s Wide Field-of-view Night Vision Imaging

Anduril, the defense startup founded by Palmer Luckey, showcased the enhanced capabilities of its EagleEye XR glasses, highlighting its wide field-of-view (FOV) night vision feature.

Last year, Anduril introduced the EagleEye system, demonstrating its impressive augmented reality capabilities designed for U.S. soldiers. The company has now unveiled the system’s night vision capabilities.

According to Anduril, the EagleEye Family of Systems offers digital night vision with an 84-degree field of view, stereo thermal fusion for detecting hidden threats, and a 4K display for improved warfighter perception.

The company also compared EagleEye to the PVS-31 night vision system, commonly used by elite combat units like SOCOM, Rangers, SEALs, and MARSOC. The visual comparison highlights the distinct differences between the two systems.

Anduril’s EagleEye system integrates low light and thermal sensors into a sensor suite attached to the helmet, transmitting data to the user’s display housed in AR glasses with ballistic and laser protection.

Furthermore, the system connects to various external data sources, including real-time information from Anduril’s AI-driven Lattice network of surveillance and defense devices.

Anduril is currently vying for a U.S. Army contract against its competitor Rivet for the Soldier Borne Mission Command (SBMC) project. This contract aims to modernize the previous Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) project, which Anduril took over in February 2025.

In collaboration with Meta, Anduril is working on combat-focused XR systems to provide advanced AR and VR solutions for the U.S. military.

Additionally, Anduril has partnered with EssilorLuxottica’s Oakley Standard Issue, Qualcomm, and Gentex to drive innovation, reduce costs, and accelerate development of its technology.
