Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - Mogryph Mole boss guide

Princess Zelda finds herself in the Stilled World desert in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, facing off against the formidable flying mole, Mogryph. Despite his imposing size and powerful attacks, Mogryph’s cute appearance, complete with little goggles, adds a touch of charm to the battle.

However, as the intense fight progresses, even the most adorable enemy can test one’s patience. Unlike other foes in Echoes of Wisdom, defeating bosses like Mogryph requires a specific strategy, deviating from the usual trial-and-error approach found in the rest of the game.

Here’s what you need to know!

During the initial phase of the battle, Mogryph will emerge from the sand below, launching surprise attacks at random intervals.

Utilize Pathblade Echoes to catch Mogryph as he surfaces and maintain hazards while he moves around the arena.

After a few cycles, Mogryph will soar out of the sand and charge towards you. Use Zelda’s spin to evade the attack. When Mogryph crashes into a wall and buries his head in the sand, switch to Swordfighter form and unleash a flurry of strikes for maximum damage.

This transition leads to the second phase of the fight, where the arena descends to reveal quicksand below. If you possess Gerudo sandals, you can navigate the quicksand; otherwise, strategically use the small platforms.

Ground-based Echoes are ineffective in this phase as they sink in quicksand. Flying Echoes are also challenging to use due to the mole’s agility.

While it may seem daunting, the key to defeating Mogryph lies in the bow and arrows obtained from Shadow Link earlier in the dungeon!

While Mogryph is visible, hold ZL in Swordfighter form to target the mole and press X to shoot arrows, ensuring consistent damage that Echoes cannot achieve in this scenario.

When low on charge, evade attacks until sand piles appear. Use Tornado Echo to clear the sand and reveal energy power-ups for offense.

Rapid arrow shots can swiftly end the battle, closing the rift and rewarding you with a full heart.
