Yup, Starfield is coming to PS5 in April

Exciting news for all RPG fans! Bethesda has revealed that Starfield will be launching on PlayStation 5 on 7th April as part of its next big update.

The PS5 version of Starfield will come with all the quality of life improvements implemented since 2023, along with the new Free Lanes update. This update introduces Cruise Mode, allowing players to fly between planets in a system instead of just jumping from one play space to another. Additionally, players can look forward to endgame upgrades with X-Tech, more Outpost options, two new companions, a new Moon Jumper vehicle, and more.

The game will be available for $49.99 for the base edition on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, while the Premium Edition, priced at $69.99, includes the Shattered Space expansion from 2024 and the new Terran Armada expansion, both launching on the same day.

Players can expect a similar experience on PS5 as on Xbox Series X, with Bethesda incorporating DualSense features such as the lightbar, adaptive triggers, and touchpad. PlayStation 5 Pro users will also have the option to choose between a higher frame rate or a Pro Visual Mode with the new Pro Performance Mode.

This release on PS5 presents an opportunity for Starfield to redeem itself from initial criticisms. The game was initially faulted for its lackluster star-hopping adventure experience, repetitive planet spaces, and disjointed narrative structure. However, updates like the Shattered Space DLC aimed to enhance storytelling within a single location, while Free Lanes and Terran Armada promise to expand the sci-fi fantasy world. Launching on PS5 will also introduce the game to a wider audience.

So, are you ready to embark on this interstellar journey?
