Instagram may soon allow users to share comments on Instagram posts to Threads, as discovered by Alessandro Paluzzi, who frequently analyzes Meta’s social media apps for upcoming features.
Paluzzi revealed an image indicating that a new dropdown menu could be added when commenting on an Instagram post, giving users the option to share the comment exclusively on Instagram or “also share on Threads.”
Meta has previously taken steps to connect Threads with its other platforms, such as displaying Threads posts on Instagram or Facebook and allowing users to opt out. Despite lacking its own direct messaging feature, Threads users can still send and receive messages through Instagram.
Meta’s ongoing efforts to integrate Threads with the fediverse include the ability to view replies from the fediverse on their own posts, as well as on posts from other users.
Overall, Meta is gradually working towards merging Threads with the fediverse, with features like sharing comments between Instagram and Threads being a part of this larger integration effort.
