The EU has determined that this system violates rules set forth in the bloc’s Digital Services Act (DSA), citing concerns about deception to users and a lack of compliance with industry standards. Additionally, the platform has been found to be non-compliant with transparency obligations related to advertising and sharing public data with researchers.
This marks the first instance of a company being formally accused of breaching the DSA under the EU’s preliminary findings. X will now have the opportunity to present its defense in light of these allegations.
