XREAL introduced the XREAL One Series, a new range of augmented reality (AR) glasses featuring XREAL’s inaugural silicon chip, the X1 spatial computing chip.
Setting the XREAL One Series apart from its competitors is its completely customizable cinematic virtual screen, spatially controlled directly by the glasses themselves.
The XREAL One Series includes two models: XREAL One and XREAL One Pro. Both models offer a native three degrees-of-freedom (3DoF) spatial display powered by the X1 chip, allowing users to anchor and manipulate virtual screens in three-dimensional space. The glasses are compatible with various devices via USB-C, such as iOS and Android smartphones, laptops, and gaming consoles, making them versatile for productivity, entertainment, and AR applications.
Key Features
Advanced Spatial Computing:
The X1 chip delivers spatial display capabilities with an impressive low motion-to-photon (M2P) latency of only ~3ms at 120Hz, ensuring smooth and stable visuals.
Users can personalize screen size, position, brightness, and other display settings directly on the glasses.
Optical Enhancements:
XREAL has revamped its proprietary optical engine for the One Series, providing a 1080p Full HD viewing experience for each eye from any angle.
The XREAL One features a triangular birdbath lens with a 50-degree field of view (FOV) and weighs 84g, while the Pro model debuts a flat-prism lens design, achieving a 57-degree FOV, weighing only 87g.
The company claims this to be the AR glasses industry’s first flat-prism lens design. It offers an 11-mm profile that is 40.9% thinner than traditional birdbath designs and expands the FOV by 23.9% compared to the XREAL Air 2 Series.
Both models are certified by TÜV Rheinland for high visibility, low blue light, and flicker-free performance.
Audio and Comfort:
Sound by Bose enhances the audio experience with optimized mid-to-high frequencies. The glasses are built with a lightweight magnesium alloy frame, improved adjustable interpupillary distance (IPD) options, and prescription insert compatibility for maximum comfort and usability.
Optional Modular AI Camera:
The XREAL Eye camera, available as an accessory, takes high-definition photos and videos. Future updates will include AI-powered features like image recognition and voice-activated commands.
“The XREAL One Series represents the most advanced consumer AR glasses on the market today,” stated Chi Xu, CEO and Co-founder of XREAL. “With the X1 chip, we’re introducing our biggest innovation since pioneering lightweight, portable, tethered AR glasses. X1 is the result of over three years of cutting-edge research and development, culminating in the world’s first customized silicon designed specifically for OST* AR glasses.”
Availability and Pricing
XREAL One is priced at $499 USD, while the Pro model is available for $599 USD. Pre-orders are now open on XREAL.com and Amazon, with shipments expected in mid-December for the One model and early 2025 for the Pro. The glasses will be available globally, including through retail partners in the US, UK, and Asia.
