Elon Musk’s AI Company xAI Appoints Former Morgan Stanley Banker as New CFO
In a recent development, Elon Musk’s AI company xAI has appointed former Morgan Stanley banker Anthony Armstrong as its new chief financial officer, according to a report by the Financial Times.
Armstrong, who previously worked with Musk on the Twitter deal, will now be responsible for overseeing the finances of both xAI and X, which were merged in April. The report also mentioned that Armstrong has been working with xAI for several weeks before officially taking on the role of CFO.
This appointment comes after xAI had been without a CFO since the departure of Mike Liberatore in July. Armstrong’s arrival follows a series of high-profile executive departures at both xAI and X, including the exit of xAI’s general counsel Robert Keele, senior lawyer Raghu Rao, co-founder Igor Babuschkin, and former X CEO Linda Yaccarino.
According to the Financial Times, Armstrong will be taking over from X’s current CFO Mahmoud Reza Banki, who is also leaving the company.
Despite these changes, xAI has not yet provided any official comment on the matter.
