What an opportunity missed.
Motorola finally unveiled its much-rumored first book-style foldable, the Motorola Razr Fold, at parent company Lenovo’s Tech World conference at CES 2026. This device aims to compete with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
The Motorola Razr Fold was introduced alongside a new Signature flagship phone and other products, serving as more of a teaser than a full reveal. Some key specs were shared, such as dual 120Hz OLED displays, a 6.56-inch cover screen, an 8.09-inch internal panel, and support for Motorola’s Pen Ultra stylus. The device will feature a camera setup with three 50MP rear sensors and will be available in ‘Blackened Blue’ and ‘Lily White’ finishes.
However, many crucial details are still unknown, including the software support length, battery size, charging speed, IP rating, weight, and thickness of the device. The processor information is also missing, which is essential for its success.
The pricing of the Motorola Razr Fold will ultimately determine its success. According to renowned leaker Evan Blass, the device could start at an attractive price point of $1500 in the US, making it more affordable than its competitors.
If the Razr Fold can deliver a compelling foldable experience at this price, it may push other manufacturers to make their foldable devices more affordable. The device is set for release in the summer of 2026, with more information expected to be revealed at MWC 2026 in March.
