Exciting news for Warhammer 40,000 fans, as the Dawn of War – Definitive Edition is set to be released on August 14th. For those who already own the Anniversary Edition, there will be a 30% discount off the $30 label price on both Steam and GOG. Relic has also confirmed that the new edition will be compatible with over 20 years of community mods. The package includes all four expansions, offering four campaigns and nine factions to choose from. From Orks to Space Marines to Necrons, there’s something for every Warhammer enthusiast.
In terms of multiplayer, Relic has been working on fixing legacy bugs and plans to continue addressing high priority issues post-launch. They are also experimenting with changes to improve gameplay, such as flying unit behavior and unit pathing.
The Definitive Edition boasts several improvements, including image-based lighting, unit texture upscaling, new world lighting, and better shadows. With 4K support, an integrated mod manager, and an improved camera, players can expect a more immersive gaming experience.
