Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Coming to PlayStation 5
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, the successor to Fatshark’s Vermintide series, is set to release on PlayStation 5 on December 3rd. This grimdark sci-fi game will bring all the content and improvements from the PC launch, along with enhancements for the PlayStation 5 Pro. Players can expect performance targets such as:
- 60 FPS at 4K resolution for PlayStation 5 Pro
- Performance mode at 60FPS and 1440p resolution for PlayStation 5
- Quality Mode at 30FPS and 4K resolution for PlayStation 5
The PS5 version promises to be on par with the Xbox Series X version, with additional benefits for PS5 Pro users. Darktide follows the journey of Inquisitorial Operatives as they fight against the forces of Chaos to liberate a city. Unlike other Warhammer 40K games, players take on the role of a criminal seeking redemption, leading to a unique gameplay experience blending melee combat and gunplay.
Originally launched for PC in 2022, Darktide faced criticism for performance issues and bugs. After addressing these issues, the game was released on Xbox Series X|S in 2023 and is now making its way to PS5. Despite its rocky start, Darktide has been praised for its intense gameplay and seamless blend of action.
