Exciting Updates for Vision Pro Revealed at WWDC

One of the most significant announcements from today’s WWDC is the upcoming support for PSVR 2 motion controllers and a Logitech motion stylus on Vision Pro with the release of visionOS 26. This marks a shift from the initial hand-tracking only approach by Apple.

During a developer session at WWDC 2025, Apple shared more details about the forthcoming support for motion controllers on VisionOS 26.

Developers will now have the option to designate their Vision Pro apps as ‘optional’ or ‘required’ for motion controllers, providing users with clear expectations in the App Store.

This update opens up possibilities for Vision Pro content tailored specifically for motion controllers. While hand-tracking support is ideal, many existing VR games are designed for motion controllers and would require significant adjustments to integrate hand-tracking.

With VisionOS 26, developers can now publish apps that ‘require’ motion controllers, streamlining the process of bringing existing VR content to Vision Pro.

Developers building apps for motion controllers on Vision Pro can choose between Predicted and Continuous tracking modes, each offering unique benefits for different types of applications.

While Apple has not disclosed specific latency details for motion controllers on Vision Pro, the options for tracking modes suggest a focus on both precision and responsiveness.
