Valve officially announces Deadlock, a game ‘in early development’

Valve has officially announced Deadlock in a very understated manner. The game now has a Steam page with Valve listed as both the developer and publisher, along with a simple notice: “Deadlock is in early development with lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay. Access is currently limited to friend invite via our playtesters.”

Valve has not provided any further details, only an animated teaser image. The system requirements state that the game requires a 64-bit processor and operating system.

Many streamers are currently live streaming the game, including Shroud, after admin Yoshi announced in the game’s Discord that Valve was lifting its restrictions on public conversation.

While Deadlock appears to be a promising addition to Valve’s multiplayer game lineup, it remains to be seen if it will enjoy long-lasting popularity like Counter-Strike or Dota 2, or if it will fade away like Artifact.
