Unbeatable, the rhythm game where music is illegal and you do crimes, has a sick as hell new demo

I must apologize, but I have to say that Unbeatable has the most captivating premise of any game I’ve ever encountered. As the title suggests, this is a game where music is outlawed, and you engage in criminal activities. It’s a rhythm game, which is the perfect fit for such a concept. I’ve been eagerly anticipating this game for approximately four years since its Kickstarter launch, and unfortunately, it’s still not quite ready. However, there is good news! A demo has been released today.

“A demo? Hasn’t Unbeatable already had a few of those?” you might inquire. Yes, there have been a couple of demos before, but this one is different. It allows you to play a vertical slice of the game, giving you a true sense of what to expect. Previous demos focused mainly on the rhythm mechanics, but this demo, accompanied by an impressive new trailer, allows for more exploration. While there are rhythm gaming elements, it’s not solely focused on songs.

In the demo, there are moments where you can create music to the beat of the world, improvising songs to the sounds of a vending machine or seagulls. You’ll also create and hang posters to cover police recruitment flyers, and yes, you’ll even battle cops because, well, they’re not supportive of music (remember, music is illegal, and you do crimes). There’s even a baseball minigame included! The demo is undeniably engaging.

Furthermore, there’s a nostalgic arcade mode that focuses entirely on the rhythm game aspect, which has already captivated me. The visuals are stunning, and it’s hard to believe how good games can look nowadays!

This demo is so comprehensive that if I wasn’t already declaring it my future game of the year, it would certainly convince me to purchase it upon release. So, go ahead, immerse yourself in some awesome tunes while committing virtual felonies – that’s an order! To make things easier, here’s the Steam page for you to check out.
