President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Andrew Ferguson to lead the Federal Trade Commission, succeeding Lina Khan. Vice President-elect J.D. Vance commended Khan for her work in challenging big tech.
Trump praised Ferguson for his stance against Big Tech censorship and defense of freedom of speech in the United States, as shared on Truth Social.
In a leaked document obtained by Ben Brody of Punchbowl News, Ferguson outlined his plans to counter Khan’s anti-business agenda, hold big tech accountable for censorship, protect freedom of speech, and combat “wokeness” and the “trans agenda.”
Though Ferguson was sworn in as an FTC commissioner in April, Trump announced that Ferguson will take on the role of chair from day one of his administration.
Ferguson expressed his commitment to ending Big Tech’s suppression of competition and free speech at the FTC. He aims to position America as a global leader in technology and a hub for innovation.
Additionally, Trump revealed his nomination of Mark Meador, a partner at an antitrust law firm, to serve as an FTC commissioner.
