Topdown tactical shooter Intravenous 2 now has Steam Workshop support and a map editor

I have been keeping an eye on Intravenous 2 since its release last year, a topdown shooter that combines tactical stealth with the frenetic gameplay reminiscent of Hotline Miami. Recently, the game received a significant update that introduces Steam Workshop support and a map editor.

The Steam Workshop now allows players to download and share maps, campaigns, new weapons, and gadgets that enhance the gameplay experience. While modders will require knowledge of the Lua scripting language to implement their changes, the user-friendly map editor simplifies the process with its 2D tile-based design.

Unlike other topdown games inspired by Hotline Miami, Intravenous 2 emphasizes tactical elements. Players have the option to approach levels stealthily, utilizing vision cones, shadows, and environmental interactions like turning off lights or lockpicking doors to outsmart enemies.

The game offers a variety of weapons that can be customized with suppressors, laser sights, and different ammo types. With 29 weapons available on the Steam page, the recent updates may have introduced even more options for players to explore.

Intravenous 2 sets itself apart by boasting a dynamic storyline that adapts based on the player’s style of play. As a fan of stealth and tactical combat games like Door Kickers, I am intrigued by the promise of a less intricate yet action-packed experience. Could this be the topdown Splinter Cell we’ve been waiting for?

While finding time to dive into the game remains a challenge, the addition of mod support is a welcome feature. Modding can enhance the longevity and creativity of a game, and it’s encouraging to see developers embracing this aspect. For more information, check out the game on Steam.
