Thinking Machines Lab co-founder Andrew Tulloch heads to Meta

AI Startup Thinking Machines Lab Loses Co-Founder to Meta

Former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati’s AI startup, Thinking Machines Lab, has faced a setback as one of its co-founders, AI researcher Andrew Tulloch, has made the decision to join Meta.

As reported by The Wall Street Journal, Tulloch announced his departure in a message to employees on Friday. A spokesperson for Thinking Machines Lab confirmed Tulloch’s departure, stating that he is leaving to pursue a different path for personal reasons.

Earlier reports from August revealed that Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, made attempts to acquire Thinking Machines Lab, offering a compensation package to Tulloch that could have amounted to $1.5 billion over six years. Despite these efforts, Meta denied the accuracy of the reports at that time.

Andrew Tulloch brings valuable experience from his previous work at OpenAI and Facebook’s AI Research Group to his new role at Meta.
