The Shadow Syndicate mixes a bit of LA Noire, a touch of Max Payne, and furries to make a game you should keep your eye on

Do you ever find yourself thinking, “I wish LA Noire had a noir film aesthetic and everyone was a furry”? If so, then The Shadow Syndicate is the game for you. Recently announced at the Gamescom Latam showcase, this game offers a unique blend of detective work, gunplay, and bullet-time mechanics reminiscent of Max Payne.

Set in early 1930s Brooklyn, you play as private detective Sam Marlowe. Tasked with finding his missing mentor and uncovering the activities of a mysterious secret group, Sam navigates a world filled with evocative character designs, where everyone is an anthropomorphic animal.

The gameplay consists of action-packed gunfights and investigative conversations with citizens to gather clues. Interacting with the city and keeping track of discoveries in Sam’s journal opens up new dialogue options and story paths.

The release date for The Shadow Syndicate is yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to be available sometime in 2026. In the meantime, interested players can wishlist the game on Steam.
