Nintendo has announced that they will finally be unveiling the highly anticipated Donkey Kong Country area of Super Nintendo World during a Nintendo Direct stream on Monday at 5PM ET. This is exciting news for fans eagerly awaiting the theme park expansion dedicated to Mario’s original rival, especially after facing delays earlier this year.
The company first revealed plans for the Donkey Kong Country area, which will feature a thrilling mine cart rollercoaster ride, in 2021. Nintendo and Universal Studios gave a sneak peek of the region earlier this year through a digital render, confirming that the Orlando, Florida version of Super Nintendo World will open on May 22nd, 2025, with all the same attractions as its Osaka counterpart.
In May, Nintendo teased that the Mine-Cart Madness rollercoaster in Donkey Kong Country will offer “jaw-dropping maneuvers,” including being “blasted out of a barrel” and seemingly “jumping over gaps” along the rickety track. Visitors can also look forward to Donkey Kong-themed merchandise and interactive experiences throughout the park.
