Three seasons of The Legend of Vox Machina have brought sorcerers, elves, gnomes, vampires, sphinxes, and dragons, as well as raunchy dialogue, dirty humor, and some astounding songs. The fourth and fifth seasons, now officially announced by Amazon Prime Video, are expected to feature even more unusual creatures and memorable moments.
In 2022, the first installment of The Legend of Vox Machina was launched on Prime Video, resulting in enormous success. Critical Role, the web series from which it originated, had a dedicated fan base. However, the Prime Video series needed to break through to a broader audience. And it did – the animated show about a group of Dungeons & Dragons characters has garnered a lot of buzz.

The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 release date
The fourth season of the show will premiere on Prime Video in 2026, so fans are in for a long wait. Fortunately, this year, Critical Role and Amazon will release a Vox Machina spin-off, The Mighty Nein.
Season 1 of The Legend of Vox Machina premiered in January 2022, and season 2 followed a year after. However, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, fans had to wait almost two years for season 3.

In the series’ fourth installment, we will surely once again meet:
- Vex Vessar, a half-elf ranger and the twin sister of Vax – voiced by Laura Bailey
- Vax Vessar, a half-elf rogue and the twin brother of Vex – voiced by Liam O’Brien
- Percy Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III, a human gunslinger – voiced by Taliesin Jaffe
- Pike Trickfoot, a gnome cleric – voiced by Ashley Johnson
- Scanlan Shorthalt, a gnome bard – voiced by Sam Riegel
- Keyleth, a half-elf druid – voiced by Marisha Ray
- Grog Strongjaw, a barbarian – voiced by Travis Willingham
- Trinket, a grizzly bear – voiced by Matthew Mercer
We also expect the return of:
- Gilmore, the human sorcerer – voiced by Sunil Malhotra
- Lady Allura Vysoren, the powerful human wizard – voiced by Indira Varma
- Cassandra, Percy’s sister – voiced by Esmé Creed-Miles
- Lady Kima of Vord, a halfling Paladin – voiced by Stephanie Beatriz
- Kaylie, Scanlan’s daughter – voiced by Aisling Franciosi
- Zerxus Ilerez, the devil – voiced by Luis Carazo
Season 4 will also feature Taryon Darrington, a human craftsman and adventurer. Taryon, coming from wealth, is arrogant and good-looking, often accompanied by his mechanical servant named Doty. He will undoubtedly be a great addition to the gang of Vox Machina.

The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 plot
In season 3, Vox Machina finally managed to defeat the Chroma Conclave. After killing Thordak, the group set out to find the cunning Raishan, who had been plotting all along. The season finale saw Vax traveling to the realm of the demon Orthax to free Percy’s soul, bringing the gunslinger back to life.
After the destruction of the Chroma Conclave, the members of Vox Machina went their separate ways. The official logline for the fourth season reads:
Season Four of The Legend of Vox Machina finds our heroes scattered across the globe on separate journeys, but when a cataclysmic threat befalls Exandria – they must reunite to face a foe darker than they could imagine.
The creators included a massive cliffhanger in the final episode of season 3, hinting at the appearance of Vecna, the Whispered One, as the main enemy of the heroes in season 4. Other sinister beings like Zerxus Ilerez will also pose threats to Vox Machina.
Another vital plotline in the new season will involve the deal between Vax and the Matron of Ravens, and the consequences Vax has to face for retrieving Percy’s soul.

There is no full trailer for the fourth installment yet, but at Comic-Con 2025 in San Diego, Amazon released a sneak peek for the new season.
Will there be The Legend of Vox Machina season 5?
Yes! Amazon has green-lit the fifth season, which will be the last. As co-creators Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham stated, the series will get to tell a complete story from beginning to end.
Season 5 will be the last. However, fans shouldn’t worry – The Mighty Nein TV series will kick off this year.
