Lionsgate has had a rough summer with back-to-back disappointments. Following the failure of Borderlands, another disaster struck in the form of The Crow, a remake that failed to capture the magic of the original cult classic from the ’90s. Starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs, this remake was met with skepticism and disapproval from both fans of the original and a new generation of viewers.
The original film, The Crow, based on James O’Barr’s book series, gained fame for its gothic vibe and the tragic death of its lead actor, Brandon Lee, who was fatally wounded on set. His untimely demise only added to the film’s mystique and cemented its place in the hearts of fans.
Despite a poor performance at the box office, there may still be hope for The Crow’s redemption with a home media release. Here’s how and when you can watch it.
How to watch The Crow now
The remake of the ’90s classic is currently showing in cinemas in the US and UK.
If you’re interested in catching The Crow on the big screen, you can purchase tickets at AMC Theatres in the US and at Vue, Cineworld, Odeon, and Showcase in the UK.

When will The Crow be released on VOD?
Following the disappointing reception of Borderlands, Lionsgate’s previous release, which is set to debut on VOD on August 30, The Crow could potentially follow suit. If the trend continues, we might see The Crow available for digital streaming as early as September 13, 2024.
It’s important to note that this is merely a prediction and has not been officially confirmed by Lionsgate.
When could The Crow be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
Lionsgate typically releases physical copies of their films after the VOD premiere, but the timeline can vary.
For example, Boy Kills World, another underwhelming film featuring Bill Skarsgård, is still awaiting a DVD and Blu-ray release. In contrast, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare hit shelves two and a half months after its VOD debut.
If The Crow receives a physical release, it may hit stores in late November 2024.

When could The Crow be released on streaming services?
Lionsgate typically releases their films on streaming platforms around six months after their theatrical debut. If this pattern holds for The Crow, the movie might not be available on Starz until late February 2025, followed by a release on Peacock.
Starz subscription costs $8.99 per month or $74.99 per year, with a seven-day free trial. Peacock Premium, which comes with ads, is priced at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year.
However, given The Crow’s lackluster box office performance, Lionsgate may opt to release the film on streaming platforms earlier than usual. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
Lionsgate’s previous releases, Songbirds & Snakes and John Wick 4, premiered on Prime Video in the UK. Therefore, The Crow may also make its way to this streaming service around February 2025. An Amazon Prime subscription costs £8.99 per month, with a 30-day free trial for new users.
