If you purchased an Oral-B iO a few months back and notice that the centre of the Mode button is glowing yellow, don’t worry, it’s completely normal. Oral-B describes it as a yellow light, but it may appear orange or amber to you.
Here’s the significance of the yellow light and how you can address it:
One of the perks of owning an iO toothbrush is the feedback it provides. It includes quadrant alerts to guide you through each section of your mouth while brushing, a two-minute timer for optimal brushing time, and a pressure sensor that indicates if you’re brushing too hard (red light) or with the right pressure (green light).
When the power button glows red, it indicates that the battery is running low. But what about the yellow light on the mode button, which is the second button below the power key? Let’s take a closer look at how it appears on the Oral-B iO Series 4:
The yellow light is a reminder to replace your toothbrush head, as it’s been about three months since you started using it. Over time, old brush heads become less effective at cleaning your teeth. You can also tell it’s time for a replacement if the bristles are worn out or if the color of the bristles has faded.
Once you’ve replaced the brush head, reset the brush reminder by pressing and holding the mode button for two seconds on the handle. The brush will vibrate to confirm the reset.
To set up a new brush reminder, access the Oral-B app and select \”Devices\” from the bottom menu. Ensure your iO toothbrush is switched on and synced with the app. Enter the details about the new brush head, such as the start date of use and the type of brush head.
After completing this setup, you’ll receive another reminder in three months. For more recommendations on Oral-B brushes, check out our comprehensive reviews of the top models available.
