The Developers of Tenderfoot Tactics Pull Game from Microsoft Store in Protest
The developers of Tenderfoot Tactics have made a bold statement by removing their game from the Microsoft Store. This decision was made in protest of Microsoft’s partnership with Israel’s Mossad security forces.
Lead developer badru, announced the removal of Tenderfoot Tactics from the Microsoft Store on Bluesky. The game was originally released for Windows PC and Mac on Steam in 2020, with subsequent console ports for Xbox and Switch in 2024.
This move comes amidst revelations of Microsoft’s close ties with Mossad and their provision of AI equipment and surveillance technology to the Israeli military for operations in Gaza.
Furthermore, leaked documents have shown collaboration between Microsoft and the Anti Defamation League to censor “cyberhate” on chat platforms, including support for boycotting Israeli businesses.
As part of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions campaign, the BDS movement has called for a boycott of Microsoft. In solidarity, many indie developers have followed suit by pulling their games from the Xbox store. Tenderfoot Tactics is among the prominent titles to join this boycott.

“The Tenderfoot Tactics team has decided to remove our game from sale on Xbox in solidarity with the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions campaign, which added Xbox to their priority boycott list earlier this month.
We hope that Microsoft will listen to the voices of their workers and customers and stop all business with the criminal Israeli military, which we have watched conduct an open genocide in Gaza over the last 18 months.
We hope that the broader community will join in the pressure campaign and fight for an end to occupation and apartheid in Palestine and across the world.”
