Exciting Changes Ahead for Bandai Namco Holdings
Bandai Namco Holdings has recently announced a major company-wide restructuring initiative that will impact various sectors including film, toys, arcades, and their popular video game label, Bandai Namco Entertainment. Known for iconic franchises such as Pac-Man, Tekken, Soulcalibur, and Ace Combat, the restructuring is set to take effect from 1st April.
The restructuring will involve significant personnel changes at the departmental head level. Osamu Sarudate, from Bandai Namco Entertainment NE production department unit 1, is set to become the executive officer of the card business division. Koji Tezuka, the general manager of the card business division, will now lead the Gundam division, and Yuzuke Minagawa will take on the role of executive officer of the CX park business division. Additionally, the company will be renaming and reorganizing several departments and divisions.
Last year, Sony acquired 16 million shares in Bandai Namco for approximately $464.5 million, while Nintendo announced their takeover of Bandai Namco Studios Singapore. The company has also made adjustments in response to the Covid stay-at-home boom period, which resulted in staff reductions and game cancellations. However, no layoffs have been announced as part of the current restructuring efforts.
