Cortopia Studios and Beyond Frames Entertainment have exciting news for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City is set to release on Quest 3, SteamVR, and Pico headsets this upcoming Spring.
Although an exact launch date has not been specified, eager players can look forward to trying out a free, single-player PC VR demo later this month for an early taste of the game.
As part of Steam Next Fest, the demo will showcase the first 15 minutes of gameplay, allowing players to familiarize themselves with each playable Turtle. The limited-time demo will be accessible from February 23rd to March 2nd.
Upon its full release, the game will offer four-player co-op, enabling players to choose between Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, or Raphael for their gameplay experience. Each Turtle possesses unique play styles, preferences, and physical abilities, offering diverse gameplay options for players to explore.
Art Director Ace St. Germain emphasizes the freedom players have in deciding how to approach teamwork in the game, stating, “It’s anarchy in the best way possible. There are simply no rules for what your cooperation looks like. How you’ll work together is entirely up to you, and every group you play with will end up having its own unique flare.”
Having had the opportunity to try out TMNT: Empire City in December, we got a glimpse of its movement and combat system. The prospect of experiencing it in co-op mode has us eagerly anticipating its release as a thrilling VR beat’em-up experience.
In the meantime, players can pre-order TMNT: Empire City on the Horizon Store for Quest 3 and 3S at a discounted price of $20. The game can also be wishlisted on the Pico Store for Pico 4 and above, as well as on Steam for PC VR headsets. The studio has announced that the 20% discount will be available for the first two weeks following the game’s launch.
