After changing ownership multiple times, the UK-based manufacturing arm ceased trading in 2017. While Vertu initially produced luxury phones with high prices and mediocre specs, they have since launched phones with more premium specifications. The Quantum Flip, for example, features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. However, they still offer phones like the Ivertu Calfskin 5G, which uses a Snapdragon 888 chipset that is outdated. Their latest release, the Agent Q, is set to be available at Harrods and heavily incorporates AI technology. Despite the expected high cost, the phone boasts impressive specifications and a dedicated concierge feature accessible through a single button press. The Agent Q is designed to revolutionize mobile usage by moving away from traditional app-based structures. It aims to streamline tasks by interpreting natural language commands and orchestrating services seamlessly to achieve user goals. The phone's functionality revolves around two main AI systems: the VERTU Productivity Suite (VPS) and the AI-driven intelligence system AIGS.
