The planet has been transformed into a wasteland by the collapsed corporation Sunshine, leaving behind warring mechs and dusty vending machines. As the final employee, you walk in the shadow of a giant robot during the sweltering days and stay close to keep warm during the cold nights. To survive the intense sun rays, you must utilize the shadow of your robot companion. Along the way, you scavenge for food, upgrade your robot, deploy drones, and engage in various activities to enhance your chances of survival. During the night, you can cook food and tinker with equipment while staying close to the robot for warmth. The bond between you and the robot grows stronger as you assist with repairs, upgrades, and interactions. The robot helps you by uncovering secrets, overcoming obstacles, and protecting you from threats in the desert. In addition, you can customize your robot with paint jobs and decals. The game also offers a co-op mode where players can experience the journey from different perspectives, coordinating scavenging runs and exploring the unfolding narrative together. Hello Sunshine is the latest creation from Red Thread Games, known for their previous titles such as Dustborn and Draugen.
