While they were excellent blinds, they didn't provide the complete darkness I needed for my sleep issues. I then explored the affordable Aqara Roller Shade Driver E1, which I paired with inexpensive blackout blinds from Argos. Last year, I switched to SmartWings Blinds, which I found to be fantastic. These blinds are custom-made, require self-installation, and use a Matter of Thread motor for easy integration with Home Assistant. After experiencing some light leakage with my previous blinds, I decided to try Weffort blinds, which seemed similar to SmartWings. They offer slightly different ordering options and appear to be more cost-effective. The configuration process for Weffort blinds is straightforward, with detailed guidance available on their website. I opted for inside mounting and added light blockers to improve light-blocking performance. The Weffort blinds integrate well with smart home systems like Home Assistant, Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant. The battery life is sufficient for regular use, and the optional solar panel provides continuous operation. The physical installation of the Weffort blinds is similar to SmartWings, with easy-to-follow instructions. The blinds come with a remote control for operation, and the motor housing is compact and well-integrated. Integrating the Weffort blinds with Home Assistant was smooth, and the blinds appeared as Deyi Smart within the system. The controls and settings are similar to SmartWings blinds, making them easy to use. The performance of the Weffort blinds is impressive, with notable improvements in light-blocking performance compared to previous blinds. While not perfect, the blinds offer a significantly darker room, enhancing sleep quality. Overall, the Weffort Smart Motorised Shades are a great choice, offering similar features to SmartWings at a more affordable price. The blinds are well-made, easy to install, and integrate seamlessly with smart home systems.
