Mozilla’s Pocket, the popular read-it-later app, has announced a major update for its iOS app. The update includes a brand new design that enhances the user experience with a revamped Home section, a transition from "My Lists" to "Saves," improved navigation, and more. According to Mozilla's blog post, the new Pocket release for iOS, Android, and web platforms brings significant improvements. Starting today, Pocket introduces a new mobile and web experience to help users easily discover stories and topics of interest. Additionally, Pocket is debuting a feature called Lists (initially available on the web, with mobile support coming later this year) to simplify content organization. The updated design focuses on delivering a faster and more intuitive user interface, centered around the redesigned Home tab: The new Home experience serves as a central hub for accessing all Pocket content, including saved items, recommended articles, and curated collections. Future updates to Home will offer diverse perspectives on saved and discovered content, as well as curated topics like Best of the Web, Editors’ Picks, In Case You Missed It, and more. The Saves tab, formerly known as "My List," has been streamlined to provide a unified location for features like search, listen, viewing tagged items, and favorites. Pocket has also simplified archiving items with a swipe gesture. In addition to enhanced navigation and settings access, the update introduces: Notes can now be added to list items, allowing for personalization by the list creator. Item reordering within a list, enabling list creators to prioritize content. Future updates Pocket plans to release updates for iOS every two weeks, focusing on reintroducing the ability to create and view highlights on saved articles, improving recommended article quality, and enhancing the Listen feature for listening to saved articles.
