Sega Announces Upgraded Versions of Yakuza Games for PS5, XSX|S & PC Exciting news for fans of the Yakuza series! With the upcoming releases of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, Sega is also launching upgraded versions of Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 for PS5, XSX|S, and PC on December 8th. What's more, they are offering significant discounts and free upgrades for existing owners of the digital versions of these games. Unfortunately, if you own the games on disc or obtained them through PS Plus or Game Pass, you won't be eligible for the upgrade. Keep in mind that these are new platform-specific releases, so save data won't carry over between versions. The upgrade pricing is only available for purchases made before 8th December at 8:59AM PST. Each game offers different upgrades from last gen to new, with varying fees. Across the board, there are resolution and performance improvements on the newer consoles. For example, Kiwami 2 will now run at 60fps. Sega has also added text language localisation for several languages. Yakuza 0 is getting a Director's Cut edition with new features, including the Red Light Raid mode and Bubble theme song. The upgrade price is £11.99/€14.99, with the full game priced at £44.99/€49.99. Yakuza Kiwami's upgrade is priced at £1.70/€1.99, while the full game remains at £15.99/€19.99. This fee helps offset international licensing costs for additional songs. Yakuza Kiwami 2 has a free upgrade for existing digital owners, with the full game also priced at £15.99/€19.99. This game will see significant improvements in gameplay, with the frame rate now at 60fps. Sega's decision to offer these upgrades at low cost or for free is a welcome move for fans. However, some may find the premium price for the Red Light Raid mode in Yakuza 0 Director's Cut a bit steep. Source: Sega
