An employment tribunal in the UK has denied interim pay to fired Rockstar Games employees awaiting a full hearing on their dismissal. Last year, Rockstar let go of 34 employees, with accusations of "union busting" by the Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB). Rockstar alleges that the fired employees were sharing company information on a Discord channel. The recent two-day hearing has left IWGB president Alex Marshall optimistic about the outcome of the full tribunal. Despite the denial of interim relief, Marshall believes that Rockstar's actions will be deemed unjust and unlawful in the full hearing. Rockstar, on the other hand, maintains that their actions were necessary and justified.Rockstar Games spokesperson stated, “We regret that we had to resort to dismissals, but we believe in the decisions made. The delay in the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI from May to November 19th is also attributed to Rockstar's current focus and priorities.
