Salesforce announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Informatica, a cloud data management company, for approximately $8 billion in equity. SnapLogic CEO Gaurav Dhillon, co-founder of Informatica, expressed mixed feelings about the deal, acknowledging the potential benefits while also recognizing the challenges it may pose for customers. He emphasized the importance of having a single platform for application and data integration, but noted that the process of combining legacy platforms like MuleSoft and Informatica will be complex and time-consuming.
