Chinese AR startup Rokid has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for their latest product, Rokid Glasses. These smart glasses have already raised over $500,000 in just 24 hours, indicating a strong demand for advanced smart glasses beyond the audio-focused options currently available. With a starting price of $479 (20% off the $599 MSRP), Rokid Glasses offer a range of features including AI voice commands, music playback, calls, and photo/video capture capabilities. One of the standout features of Rokid Glasses is the integrated dual waveguides that provide a monochrome green heads-up display for functions such as turn-by-turn directions, teleprompter, and real-time text and voice translation in 89 languages (five offline via Rokid’s LLM). The campaign has already seen significant support, with expectations of reaching multi-million dollar funding by the end of the Kickstarter campaign on October 10th.
