Starbound Coming to Xbox Consoles After Over a Decade
Exciting news for fans of indie game Starbound as developer Chucklefish has announced that the game is finally making its way to Xbox consoles. This comes after more than a decade since the console version was first teased by the team.
A playtest for Starbound on Xbox consoles is currently underway, allowing players to provide feedback on the controls, user interface, and overall experience before the official release.
Originally released in early access beta in 2013, Starbound reached full release in July 2016 on Windows PC via Steam. Despite its popularity on PC, the game has never been available on consoles until now.
Chucklefish is specifically seeking feedback on button mapping and game balancing for the Xbox version of Starbound, ensuring that the gameplay experience is optimized for console players.
The playtest for Starbound on Xbox consoles will run until September 4th, exclusively for Xbox Insiders. Players can join the playtest by accessing the Xbox Insider Program through the Insider Hub app on the Xbox Store.
