Hasbro and Saber Interactive have recently announced a new partnership to work on a new AAA game based on one of Hasbro’s popular intellectual properties.

Given the vast range of toy brands and properties under Hasbro’s umbrella, the possibilities for this new game are endless. Hasbro’s lineup includes iconic franchises such as Dungeons & Dragons, Transformers, Magic: The Gathering, Monopoly, GI Joe, Battleship, Risk, Jenga, and many more.

Saber Interactive, known for their successful releases like Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and World War Z adaptation, brings their expertise in game development and their advanced game engine capable of handling large numbers of on-screen enemies to this new project. Their track record in delivering quality games has impressed both critics and fans alike.

During an earnings call, Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Hasbro and Saber Interactive are working together on an exciting new video game project led by the team behind the hit game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. This upcoming AAA title, based on one of our flagship IPs, promises to deliver thrilling single-player action and engaging multiplayer experiences thanks to Saber’s Swarm tech.”

Speculation has been swirling about the identity of the new game, with many pointing towards the possibility of Baldur’s Gate 4 being in development. However, some believe that a Transformers game may be in the works.

Addressing inquiries, Cocks clarified that this collaboration would involve co-publishing and that the development team behind Space Marine 2, based in Saint Petersburg, Russia, would be leading the project. This has led to some speculation about the future of a potential Space Marine 3 game.
