We have a soft spot for MOBAs here at TSA Towers. In fact, we might even enjoy a not-so-great one every now and then. One of the newest and most exciting additions to the incredibly popular genre is SMITE 2, the follow-up to Titan Forge Games’ breakout success. As it continues its journey through an open beta launch, the team is constantly adding fresh content to prepare for its full release. The most recent updates include the introduction of a new god, Cabrakan, and the Wandering Market, a marketplace where players can splurge their hard-earned – or possibly purchased – Coins on new skins for their beloved characters.
All of this was revealed at the recent SMITE 2 Founders Series event in Las Vegas. The Wandering Market will offer a rotating store accessible to all players for free, while additional cosmetic items can be found in the Premium Collection, available for purchase.
Players can earn Coins by completing quests and gaining XP daily, which can then be used in the Wandering Market to purchase items from various collections. Players have the flexibility to save up their Coins for future sales or spend them whenever they desire.
In addition, they surprised fans by introducing Cabrakan into the sequel, a favorite among long-time players. Cabrakan, known as the destroyer of mountains, hails from the Mayan Pantheon of Gods and uses earthquakes to disrupt and control the opposition. We can’t wait to try him out now that he’s part of the game.
Alongside these exciting announcements, a competitive SMITE 2 match took place during the event, with ‘Team Name but with 5 Ms’ emerging as the first Founders Series Champions in Las Vegas after defeating Team Risk 3-2 in the finals. BennyQ was named MVP of the match.
SMITE 2 is now available for free download on Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store.
