After the successful early access release of Skate, EA and Full Circle have now unveiled what’s in store for Season 1: Hesh & Fresh, set to kick off on 7th October.
The free-to-play revival of the beloved Skate series has transported players to the skateboarding haven of San Vansterdam. And now, the city is expanding further with new locations, weekly challenges, a skate pass offering both free and premium reward tracks, and special seasonal events for Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:
- New Skateable Areas: Explore seasonal decorations at places like The Orb and The Skateway, along with other fresh spots waiting to be discovered in San Van.
- New Events:
- Skate-o-Ween (Oct. 21 – Nov. 11): Join in the light-hearted Halloween festivities of Skate-o-Ween in San Van, where the focus is on fun costumes and skating in style.
- 7-Ply Maple Harvest (Nov. 18 – Dec. 2): Celebrate the annual San Van 7-Ply Maple Harvest, a festival honoring the city’s unique maple trees that have played a significant role in skateboard construction.
- New Challenges and Tasks: Season 1 will introduce 40 fresh challenges that will rotate weekly. Players can also tackle new daily, weekly, seasonal, and event tasks to earn rewards and unlock exciting content.
- New Brand Partners and Soundtrack Additions: Look out for new brands like Santa Cruz, Independent, and Creature in the in-game store. Season 1 also brings a 90’s-inspired soundtrack with tracks from artists like Bad Religion, Dinosaur Jr., and Ice Cube.
- Lightning Update and skate.Pass: Accompanying Season 1 is the new Lightning Update and skate.Pass – more details can be found in The Grind Vol. 6.
Although Skate is still in early access, the game is free-to-play and accessible on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series XS, and Xbox One.
