Samsung’s entry-level Galaxy Watch 7 has returned to its best price to date

I was a latecomer to the smartwatch trend, but now I can’t imagine a day without mine. Aside from keeping me informed with notifications, it’s great for setting timers, monitoring workouts, and tracking my less-than-stellar sleep habits. If you’re not yet on board with smartwatches or are considering an upgrade, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is currently on sale for $199.99 ($100 off) for the 40mm / Bluetooth version at Amazon and Walmart. For those who prefer a larger screen, the 44mm model is also discounted on Amazon starting at $229.99 ($100 off).

While the Galaxy Watch 7 may not have the flashy appeal of other Samsung wearables, its simplicity is part of its appeal. It maintains the classic circular design and sleek profile of previous models, standing out from the rugged Galaxy Watch Ultra. It’s comfortable for everyday use, including wearing it while sleeping and during workouts, as noted in Victoria Song’s review from last year. The watch comes with useful features like heart rate monitoring, Energy Score for recovery assessment, and FDA-approved sleep apnea detection.

One of the standout features of the Watch 7 is its AI-driven wellness insights, offering personalized advice to help users achieve their health and fitness objectives. It also boasts a 3-in-1 BioActive Sensor that can measure metabolic health using an advanced glycation end products (AGEs) metric, although our testing found these features to be somewhat inconsistent. In addition to these, the watch provides standard smartwatch functions such as music streaming, texting, and call capabilities when paired with a phone.

Despite its slim design, the Watch 7 offers approximately 24 hours of battery life with the always-on display active, and opting for the 44mm version can extend this slightly. Currently running Wear OS 5, an update to the Gemini-powered Wear OS 6 is expected later this year. These discounts may hint at the imminent release of the Galaxy Watch 8, as Samsung traditionally unveils new devices at a mid-July Unpacked event, potentially including updates to their foldable and wearable lineup.
