Samsung has unveiled a new commercial hinting at the features of the upcoming Galaxy S26 release, confirming speculations about a revolutionary display with an integrated privacy mode. Leaked footage suggests that this innovative feature could obscure content from specific applications or sections of the screen when viewed from an angle.
The advertisement depicts a scenario where a woman is engrossed in a steamy novel while commuting on a subway, attracting the prying eyes of fellow passengers. A demonstration of the “Zero-peeking privacy” toggle quickly masks the provocative content from the nosy onlookers.
While similar privacy filters have existed as add-on screen protectors or integrated into devices like certain HP laptops, reports indicate that Samsung’s approach with the S26 series is unique.
The device is said to feature a cutting-edge OLED panel called Flex Magic Pixel, introduced by Samsung Display at MWC 2024. This technology enables individual pixel adjustments for viewing angles, allowing selective privacy enhancements on different parts of the screen. With the incorporation of AI, the device could automatically safeguard sensitive data in banking apps or conceal notifications in messaging apps, as showcased in a leaked video shared by renowned tipster Ice Universe.
More details are expected to be unveiled soon, as Samsung has confirmed its upcoming Unpacked launch event scheduled for February 25th.
