Indie Developer Introduces Call of Elyndra – A Retro Action RPG with Farming Elements

Quorum Games, an indie developer, has recently announced their upcoming title Call of Elyndra. This retro action RPG incorporates farming elements and draws inspiration from beloved classics like Zelda: A Link To The Past and Harvest Moon.

Call of Elyndra is currently in development for Windows PC through Steam, with potential console ports on the horizon. While an official release date has not been disclosed, a playable demo is set to launch on December 2nd. This demo will provide players with a preview of the game’s opening sequence, farming mechanics, the first dungeon, and the introduction of the primary antagonist.

Game Overview and Features

Call of Elyndra marks the debut project of Quorum Games, blending elements from SNES-era action RPGs and cozy farm simulation games. Players will have the freedom to choose their gameplay style, whether focusing on farming, questing, or a mix of both.

The game unfolds the tale of three adventurers, including the player character, who stumble upon the village of Elyndra following a mysterious dream. As they aid the locals in battling monsters and rescuing a kidnapped child, they are granted a plot of land to cultivate. Amidst a looming conflict between villages and an oppressive Empire, players must navigate their choices and allegiances.

Featuring hand-crafted pixel art reminiscent of GBA classics, Call of Elyndra offers diverse landscapes, NPCs, quests, and tools for combat and exploration. Players can delve into farming, crafting, and building relationships with villagers to progress through the game.

  • An extensive storyline spanning over 30+ hours of gameplay
  • Significant character development opportunities
  • Engaging side activities like fishing for added variety
  • Deep lore inspired by ancient religions and cultures
  • Real-time combat system with dodge rolls, items, and special abilities

The game, crafted using a mix of RPG Maker and custom code, promises a rich gaming experience. While the full release date is yet to be announced, interested players can explore the Steam page launching on November 18, 2024. The demo on December 2nd will offer a sneak peek into the immersive world of Call of Elyndra.
