Ratatan is moving and shaking onto Switch 2, PS5 & Xbox Series with a July release date

Ratatan, the spiritual successor to the beloved game Patapon, is set to bring back the rhythm-action strategy genre on July 16th with its full release on PC. It will also be launching on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S.

Similar to Patapon, Ratatan features catchy music and requires players to tap buttons rhythmically to give musical commands to their army. However, Ratatan also incorporates elements of roguelites, adding a modern twist to the gameplay. Players will march against evil armies, defeat them, and collect weapons and materials to progress further in the game.

Ratatan first entered Steam Early Access in September last year, with a major update in December. While more content is on the way, the focus is now on the full multi-platform release. Reflecting on the game’s initial launch, developer Dom expressed his satisfaction, stating, “Ratatan is exactly what I envisioned. In Early Access, it offers a fresh, modern take on Patapon’s iconic gameplay, enhanced by stunning visuals and an incredible soundtrack. I look forward to bringing even more to players as we journey towards version 1.0.”
